Ewa Kuryluk

(b. 1946) is a world-famous painter, illustrator, creator of art installations, writer, essayist and art historian. Born in Kraków, she currently lives in Paris and New York. She was a co-founder and member of the editorial staff of “Zeszyty Literackie”. Her literary output includes many essays devoted to art (The Viennese Apocalypse, A Journey to the Limits of Art and Veronica and Her Cloth). Kuryluk has also written literary novels, such as Century 21 and Grand Hotel Oriental. The first two volumes in her memoir series, Goldi (2004) and Frascati (2009), were highly acclaimed. Both books were nominated for the Nike Award – the most important literary award in Poland.
